Last week, Ms. Fatemeh Nazari, CEO of the Tehran division of the Nazari Business Group, participated in a panel discussion dedicated to the evolving role of women in managing and growing family-owned enterprises.
In her address, Ms. Nazari traced the history and key milestones of the Nazari family business—from its founding by the late Haj Akbar Nazari to its evolution into a modern holding company. She underlined two major developments that have been instrumental in the organisation along-term success:
- Preserving joint operations and avoiding inheritance-based divisions among heirs, a strategy that fostered unity and ensured business continuity.
- Transitioning from a traditional business model to a modern holding structure between 2018 and 2019, a shift that demanded extensive organizational and leadership reforms.
Ms. Nazari also highlighted the vital role women play in sustaining cohesion and shaping strategic direction within family businesses. She emphasized the significance of emotional intelligence in female leadership, the impact of spousal support in enabling women to take on managerial responsibilities, and the transformative power of coaching in steering family enterprises toward growth.
Reflecting on her own path to leadership, she concluded with a message advocating for stronger societal and familial support for women:
“If families give their daughters the trust and opportunities they deserve, they will learn to rise above social limitations and carve their own path to success.”
