Blueberry (Vaccinium sp. L.), an economically important member of the Ericaceae family that is widely distributed geographically, has become an important fruit crop worldwide. More than 400 species are included in this genus, and about 40% of them are native to Southeast Asia, 25% to North America, and 10% to Central and South America. Blueberry species are well known as a good source of anthocyanins and their daily intake is associated with a reduction in the risk of disease
